Changing The Default Fonts

If you want to change the system fonts to something other than Tahoma or MS Sans Serif, go to the Registry and look for this string:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Font Substitutes

In Windows NT, right-click on the 'MS Shell Dlg' key and select 'Modify'. Change the default MS Sans Serif to a font of your choosing.

In Windows 2000, right-click on the 'MS Shell Dlg' key and select 'Modify'. Change the default MS Sans Serif to a font of your choosing. Next, do the same for the 'MS Shell Dlg 2' key.

NOTE: You must have your chosen font installed on your computer or Windows will go back to the default one. You must restart your computer for the changes to take affect.
